Hey guys. Just registered on the forums today. I am sadly still one of the few people left in the world who is still stuck with dial-up
I've checked just about every option for my area. Cable, DSL, and WiFi are all unavailable. The only thing I can go with right now is satellite internet. I have however heard of a service called WiMax that's supposed to address the issues of getting high speed to rural areas. Anyone know of when this might become publicly available? Thanks. |

Hi all
I just registered today, just found this site and when I read this post I knew I had to post. It was not more than an hour ago I was reading about satellitefamily. They were brought in by hughesnet during a natural disaster (sorry I have alot of memory dysfunction with auto immune problems) I can not remember which one. Anyway Hughesnet brought them in to try to supply customers having such a hard time. They ended up continuing their use in california I believe. So satellitefamily is a hughesnet equipment service provider. I hope I remembered that right. I was on a hughesnet site. Unfortunaly I too am still stuck with dial up but not for long. I live in Oklahoma so only 2 choices when you live out in the country. Before 2004 I never had time to get online because I was working a lot of hours as a nurse and trying to get to the bottom of why I was feeling so bad. In mid June 2003, I was hospitalized, had west nile virus which finally kicked in the change in my blood work and then in august lost a grand baby. Stress finally allowed my bloodwork to indicate what was wrong. Late september2003 confirmed a diagnoses of Lupus, fibromyalgia, cfs, IBS, and several other things. So here I am unable to work so I am online trying to find a way to make money. I love being on my computer. Sorry to ramble on. Got way off subject.
Thanks for listening )
