Kim: Hughes Net Deceitful

Kim: We obtained Hughes net after paying 450.00 to install the huge gigantic satelite. All you need is not just a clear view of the southern sky. It also cannot be raining or snowing and you cannot play any games, such as Runescape and you are limited @ 60.00 a month as to how much you are allowed to view. Any website that has pictures or Myspace anything like that you are restricted to view them. Once you reach the restriction point you are shut down completely and have NO internet access at all for at least 1-2 days. When you decide you no longer want this awful service you have to contact foreign people that you cannot understand and they get rude with you. You are instructed these huge instructions on how to return the satellite after you climb up there and take it down and have to pay for the shipping then they are supposed to return maybe 100.00 to you which I have yet to receive. Awful terrible deceitful service. period.

zomrax: Recent Hughes.net service degradation

D3thKn1ght: Meh. Yea. I'm still planning on getting Hughesnet in about a month though. It's THE ONLY thing I can get besides dial-up. And well, my dial-up is going at around 19k connection speeds. Once in a while if I'm lucky it will jump to 37k. Almost never happens though. But even 10Kbps is faster then dial-up. Even at the best of the best dial-up connection (52k), the best download speed you can get is 6kbps.

But yea. Funny thing is I used to get 49k connection speeds for years. But now for about a year I've had these horrible connection speeds. So at this point I'm so fed up with dial-up that I'm willing to go with ANYTHING else. Even if it means paying all that money just to get it set up.
